Today's the day, the Lord has made.

Well, we are soon going to the airport and will be flying for about 21 hours...yikes. You probably won't here from me until Sunday. We land in Kigali around 1:35 PM Sunday. We'll be 5 and a half hours ahead of your Eastern time schedule. Thanks for your prayers and please keep praying for me. I don't like flying, ironic isn't it.

  2. Glad to hear you made it safe and sound to Rwanda. How's the weather?
We missed you guys in church yesterday. Tell Pastor Sunny the ladies from Child Evangelism Fellowship did a great job -- BTW, I must say Allen did too. :-)

I was wondering what your meals are like? If possible, maybe you can get some Rwandan recipes and we can make it for the children in church to sample.

Give the kids an extra hug from me! Have a good evening and God's blessings on you!
    Miss you.

  3. The most common food here is rice, spaghetti (without sauce, beans, potatoes, tree tomatoes, and fresh fruit. Some things we don't have is chipotte (a type of flat bread), sambosa, and cassava. Jane helped make the chipotte today, so hopefully we can make it when we get home.

  4. I saw a recipe on allrecipes.com for sambusa, I wonder if that is the same thing. It would be fun to get together and try to make it. It had common ingredients in it.
